More information
This hybrid tea rose is more accurately classified as a grandiflora, as its large blooms are typically borne in clusters. The flowers are salmon pink, tending more toward orange at the start of bloom and more toward pink at the end, with the hue remaining within this range. The blooms tolerate rain and sun. The shrub is hardy and vigorous, with grey-green foliage. The cultivar shows resistance to black spot under the humid conditions of northern Europe.
In warm regions, the coloration of individual blooms varies only slightly, with petal margins darker than the main tone; in cold regions the contrast is pronounced, and the petal edges take on a pink-red hue. Blooms are large, goblet-shaped, and comprise 40 or more petals. They are produced singly or in small candelabra-like clusters. Flowering continues through summer and autumn; the scent is light and fruity; the blooms are slow to fade; at the end of the cycle they resemble peonies before the wavy petals drop. In dry climates, petals remain unmarked; rainfall leaves visible marks on the petals. The sturdy shrub reaches a medium height. The foliage is bronze and glossy.
